Another noteworthy item in the In-Case-You-Missed-It department (after all, nobody can be everywhere at the same time, right?), the International Gem & Jewelry Show was held this weekend at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall.  Besides the usual over-abundance of baubles & beads for the DIY-ers to string or make into earrings, there actually were some outstanding one-of-kind offerings to be had for the more discerning amongst us.  Prices ranged all over the map, as did the vendors’ ethnicities and places where they’re based.  Special shout out to Anita Winstead of Pearls Pacifica who displayed an eclectic mix of precious and semi-precious adornments along with a fine but extremely limited selection of handmade Hawaiian wearable art creations.  Loved the crocheted sterling cuffs, girlfriend!  (BTW, Anita does trunk shows here in the Seattle area.  E-mail wordsmith1maggie@aol.com if you have any interest)…
